GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. (July 2, 2025) — Hotel Colorado has promoted Alta Otto to the position of Director of Catering. Otto has been with the hotel as Social Market Sales Manager for two years and is a certified wedding and meeting planner.
“Alta has proved to be an important asset to our sales and catering team over the past couple of years. Hotel Colorado prioritizes hiring from within when possible so that we can offer career paths with the chance for advancement to our employees,” Larry MacDonald, Hotel Colorado general manager, said.
In her new role, Otto leads the planning, coordination, and execution of all catered events and social functions at the property. She manages sales and catering teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences and seamless event operations, and oversees the booking process from inquiry to execution, including proposals, contracts, detailing, and post-event follow-up. Additional responsibilities include implementing marketing initiatives in collaboration with the marketing team to promote event offerings and packages.
Otto is also spearheading the development of signature events at the historic hotel, including enhancements to the annual Lighting Ceremony, as well as new experiences designed to elevate Hotel Colorado’s reputation as a premier event and stay destination in the Roaring Fork Valley.
MacDonald added, “Alta is a go-getter who has expanded her skills to include wedding and event management. This promotion is well-deserved.”
Hotel Colorado is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, is a member of Historic Hotels of America and has recently completed a $10 million comprehensive banquet and meeting space and guest room renovation.
